Heartfelt congratulations from the whole Club must go to RSYC member Ed Donald and fellow crew members John Wulff (helm) and Cameron Tweedle, who sailed Folkboat GBR 808 Isobella to glory in the Nordic Folkboat Gold Cup Regatta 2024!

Fifty-two Folkboats from Denmark, the United Kingdom, Estonia, Germany, Finland and Sweden competed in Halmstad, on the west coast of Sweden, from 6th to 12th July and we are very proud and honoured that Isobella raced under the burgee of the Royal Solent Yacht Club and that subsequently we are the winning club.

This is the first time in history that the Nordic Folkboat Gold Cup has been won by a British crew and a British club, so it's a truly momentous achievement.

The Nordic Folkboat Gold Cup was presented to the Club at the Folkboat Week welcome drinks on Saturday in the presence of the President of the UK Folkboat Association, Graham Coulter  and the Chairman, Kim Morley. Ed Donald was represented on the evening by his daughters, Maddie and Bella, who were accompanied by the builder of Isobella, Andy Baker.
